Welcome to this website. My name is Muhammad Asim. I am at present is Ed.D. Students in Dowling College.
I am an Arian by Horoscope-who are known for accepting challenges and I also love to accept challenges. I like surprises and excitement of competition and hate idleness in life. Life is about energy and innovation. Therefore, I am everytime ready to take risk with novice ideas which appeal me.
My all time favorite authors : Khan Asif Khan, Ibne Safi, Shafiq-ur-Rehman, Khalil Gibran, Michale Fullan and Serjevioni. The books on Religion and Mystics also enlighten me spiritually as learner. However, Philosophy, Scientific research articles. research in Education also near to domain of my reading interest. I like the following Golden Quote:
" I have learned silence from the talkative, tolerance from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet, strange, I am ungrateful to those teachers" Khalil Gibran.
"Poetry is an expression of life in rhythm" I believe. In classical poetry, Romi, Amir Khusroo, and Iqbal are my first choice. In contemporary poets Iqbal Azim and Arif Shafiq had tried to direct the society on social dilemmas.
The following verses of poetry I like very much any anonymous:
"The sun will again shine for me and I will
Fall in love again, with the same fierce devotion and loyalty".
Please Meet
Mr. Muhammad Hasnain
He has explained me the lessons of life.
After his birth, I learnt how to nurse and care to the nascent.
He made me realize about my duties and responsibilites as father.
I have never shown my interest in the theories of Jean Piaget and Vygotsky as an educator. After his birth, I have re-explored all the theories about "how young children learn"
Learning can be enjoyable, without 'greed or fear' and 'Win or Lose' and self-satisfactory. I learnt from him.
I have learnt that 'Learning is also associated with Love, affection, tolerance, commitment and devotion. I observed manytime while playing with my son that he never afraid to take risk about anything.
Michale Fullan Says: 'Change is a process not an event"
Thanks to Mr. Hasnain by re-articulating Michale Fullan :
"Learning is a process not an event"

My Philosphy of Teaching and Learning
I am inspired by Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a greatest teacher to all mankind. The preaching style of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is simple, straight forward and hearts appealing. As a teacher, he had delivered many sermons for guidance, demonstrated principles by his action, mentored mankind with his love and affection and provided complete code of life to humanity. The essance of his preaching is founded on acceptance of all, peace for mankind and social change for betterment of society.
The pragmatism of Education by John Dewey has also changed my thinking paradigm. I am agreed with Dewey that "Learning is an active process" and it should be based on real and guided experiences in order to enhance the intellectual domain of learners and to foster the capacity to contribute to the society. [To read more please visit http://wilderdom.com/experiential/JohnDeweyPhilosophyEducation.html]. When I compare and contrast the whole Idea tendered by John Dewey with system of education in Pakistan, I observe an outdated, abstract, rigid bound system of education. This system of education does not provide space for innovative teaching and learning. In this dismal scenario, the overhauling of system of education is needed. As a small component of this larger system, I believe my experiences of Ed.D. in Dowling College may be helpful to initiate change process for the betterment in my system. I cannot change the whole scenario of teaching and learning in University of Karachi, Pakistan over night by magical wand. I believe that the experiences in Dowling College would prepare me to contribute my role as an agent of change for the betterment of 'Education in Pakistan'.
My Research Interest
Pakistani Society is pluralistic in nature. The diversity of different regions enrich it culture with different ideas and accomodate innovation for acceptance at larger scale. In Present year my interest has developed more to explore about instructional leadership and multiculturism. Bearing this fact in mind, at present I am pondering to explore the role of a teacher as instruction leader to accomodate multiculturalism in Teacher Education program, University of Karachi, Pakistan. Most of the researches, in Pakistan, address either benefits or dilemmas related to multiculturalism in the melieu of classroom. I am planning to conduct my doctoral thesis on instructional leadership style and its relationship with multiculturism in the cotext of Pakistan. My doctoral research would explore the instructional leadership role of teacher in multicultural classroom of B.Ed. program in Teacher Education Department, University of Karachi.
